After 14 years since his debut feature horror-comedy A Little Bit Zombie, Canadian writer, director, and producer Casey Walker returns to the Fantasia International Film Festival with Home Bodies, a coming-of-age sci-fi tale that deserves a spot on your watchlist.
I had the chance to speak with Walker about the film’s intricate production design, the deeper meaning behind the story, and what it was like working with real-life twin actors Emma and Ian Ho.
Home Bodies follows two children raised in total isolation by an automated house. When an enigmatic stranger arrives from the outside world, they begin to question everything they know and unravel the mysteries surrounding their existence.
The film is written by Adrian Murray, Marcus Sullivan, and stars Ian Ho, Emma Ho, and Ess Hödlmoser.
